One home improvement project that is taken for granted most of the time is a good inside and out cleaning of your home. Cleaning might not take a long time nor cost a lot, but for some reason people think that it does. It doesn't need to be expensive. When you use green cleaning techniques you improve the quality of your home and save money. Most people just use the regular, chemical-based cleaners they alway have, without even thinking about the damage that could be doing. They can also put out harmful emissions that are dangerous for you to breathe in. Green cleaning is a way to improve things without using harmful chemicals like in case of dry cleaning edinburgh.

Clean your wardrobe up. Anyone that has a lot of outfits or clothing, especially packed into a closet, may attract mites and other bugs. Mold may also develop as a result of this lack of organization. Storing the clothes can also be problematic as mothballs don't always keep out the moths. You might want to give away some clothes that you know you will no longer wear. As for the rest of the clothes, tear them up and use them for rag material. Replace your mothballs with old socks that you have filled with cinnamon sticks, cloves and bay leaves. This will make your residence more environmentally sound. You will have less clutter in your home. And, as a fringe benefit, unwanted pests will probably stay away from your clothing. Cleaning your bathroom, while using cleaners filled with chemicals, is a dangerous idea. The ventilation in the bathroom is not the best, so there is no way for the chemicals to get out of room. Instead of using chemical based cleansers use vinegar, borax and baking soda (not always all at the same time though) as your cleaning solvents. You'll keep the bathroom clean and won't have to worry about accidentally inhaling anything harmful. As long as you are not too self-conscious, the bathroom door should be left open some, for getting rid of the steam, and mildew can be cut down on by running the fan at the same time.

It is not necessary to use chemical-based cleaners to get your hardwood floors clean. Olive oil mix with vinegar can make your own cleaner. Now that is a floor you can literally eat off of! The mixture will be a certain ratio of one to the other, and that is determined by the type of wood.

While you are doing the floors with this mixture, wooden furniture can be cleaned at the same time. Once you make the switch to green cleaners, you'll never use harsh chemical cleaners again.
